I have read your recommendations, and it sounds very interesting. We have actually thought about what we could do, but we are somewhat restrained because there does not seem to be many NGOs working in the area (at least with knowledge in the specific field).

Last year we made a special development project where a gift-box for all 13.000 employees where made in India from many small groups and villages. A kind of "social" present for all Bestseller people, of course also telling the story behind. We are thinking about doing a similar thing this year around Varanasi, and we will send an Indian designer which we are cooperating with to Varanasi to talk with the weavers and see if she can come up with some designs for our next employees presents made by the weavers. Maybe these designs could lead to products which we could sell in the west (we cant sell saris!). Let me know if you find good NGOs which can work here.
